Dear talus more

“I am pleased to inform you that you have been offered a place in the Graduate Program in Archaeology in [The] University commencing Semester 1.”

Yay! I got an offer today! Completely turned around what was a toilet of a day.

In the world of my work, new graduates sometimes get called Baby Professionals* (think Baby Lawyer, Baby Dentist, etc.)

The partner is currently studying Medicine; so in extrapolation of this logic I call him a doctor-fetus.

Now it seems I have been conceived as an archaeologist-zygote, and am officially a student.

(Stock Photo with credit to Karolina Grabowska from Pexels.com, mainly as I actually received the offer as an email and on my phone, but this looks much nicer.)

*I don’t know if other industries do this but I learnt it when I first graduated, and a friend and colleague calls her new recruits this. It’s completely infantalising, but it is meant affectionately, and done in confidence among experienced peers… I think. Anyway, kind and supportive mentors to such newbies get away with it.)
